Kanton Island
Also known as "Swallow Island" or "Mary Island", it is one of the largest and least populated atolls in the country of Kiribati.

Kiritimati is also known as "Christmas Island", and is the first inhabited place in the world to experience each New Year. It is located in the farthest eastern time zone at UTC+14.
Millenium Island
Millenium Island was once called Caroline Island, but was renamed in the year 2000. It is the first place on Earth that crosses the International Date Line each day.
Tabuaeran
Tabuaeran has a small population of just over 2,000. The atoll is a popular destination for cruise ships, where locals sell items such as shark's teeth to daily visitors.
Tarawa
Tarawa has been inhabited for thousands of years. It is the capital of Kiribati, and is home to over half of Kiribati's total population.
